Nicole is a science communicator with a background in marine ecology, citizen science, and educational outreach.
Before joining the Blue Carbon Lab, Nicole organised a range of citizen science programs across Victoria including the Melbourne Sea Slug Census and Great Victorian Fish Count.
Nicole has combined her interest in design with her SciComm work by creating resources such materials such as field guides, games, and hands-on learning activities. Drawn to highlighting lesser-known and lesser-loved organisms and ecosystems, she has appeared on the Guardian’s Look at Me podcast and written an introductory book on Victorian nudibranchs and other sea slugs.
Nicole coordinates communication of the Blue Carbon Lab’s scientific research, as well as citizen science events and general outreach activities.
