Kelz completed her Bachelor of Environmental Science (Environmental Management and Sustainability) at Deakin University in 2023. Over the past 2 years she has actively volunteered conducting water quality testing and photo point monitoring with citizen science project EstuaryWatch in Barwon Heads. Now her main interests revolve around freshwater ecosystems and their valuable resources.
Kelz is interested in mitigating the effects of climate change through nature-based solutions. In her role as a Research Assistant with the Teal Carbon team, Kelz conducts fieldwork and citizen science projects across Victoria. She aims to educate citizen scientists and various stakeholders around how to improve the water quality on their properties and in turn, promote biodiversity and carbon sequestration.
Kelz is excited to be commencing her career with the Blue Carbon Lab and supporting a variety of teal carbon restoration, mitigation and research projects.
