As a PhD researcher, Kendrika worked on the development, validation and optimisation of the Environmental DNA techniques. She has prior experience working with endangered lizard species in Victoria, terrestrial biodiversity in the mallee region of Victoria and collaborative research in India focusing on threatened frogs. Her academic background and skillset encompass various domains, including Ecology, Environmental Science, Genetics, Zoology, Botany, and Bioinformatics. She has worked as an academic and research assistant across multiple disciplines within the Deakin University, Australia.
Her current role within the Blue Carbon Lab explores the application of eDNA in coastal areas and development of a Coastal Wetland Health Index.
