Melanie is a environmental scientist and engineer who analyses industrial discharges and emissions and works out how best to manage them to mitigate environmental and social harm.
She specialises in wastewater discharges and impact assessment, and also has a breadth of other experiences in waste management, air emissions monitoring, environmental sampling, geospatial information systems, socioeconomics, and emergency management in Australia and across the world.
Her farm home in Gippsland allows her to put into practice the environmental science learned in the lab, and in 2021 she actively restores habitat and manages erosion on the property.
