Sabrina

Sabrina's research

Sabrina’s background is in biotechnology and microbiology. She received her Bachelor of Science from University of Copenhagen, which was mainly focused on plant science and molecular biology, and later received her Master of Science from RMIT, majoring in clinical microbiology.

Her previous research experience includes working with the sequence of a metagenome from a marine environment to identify a specific laminarin-degrading enzyme. Most recently, she completed her Masters thesis in collaboration with the Florey Institute of Neuroscience and Mental Health, where she investigated the importance of a specific mutation and its role in the occurrence of epileptic seizures.

After being exposed to the amazing nature of Australia, Sabrina has now found her way back to the field of environmental science and is very excited to be working on several projects within the Blue Carbon Lab, focusing mainly on strategies for restoring and preserving coastal wetlands.
